A family home that grew a few rooms.
Kinara (किनारा) means the shore. The Gurung family built the first four rooms in 2009 for trekkers coming down from the Annapurnas. They still run it, still bake the bread, and still row guests out at sunset themselves when the boatman takes a day off.
We sit on the quiet north shore, ten minutes’ walk from the cafés of Lakeside, close enough to everything and far enough to hear the water at night.

Small hotel, no shortcuts.

Asked often.
Which rooms actually see the Fishtail peak?
The Machhapuchhre Rooms, the Family Loft and the Kinara Suite all face the mountain. It’s clearest from October to April and early in the morning; monsoon clouds often hide it from June to September.
Is it safe to swim in the lake?
From our jetty, yes, in calm weather and during daylight. Life jackets are free at the front desk, and children must be with an adult.
Can you book paragliding and the sunrise jeep?
Yes, with licensed operators we’ve worked with for years. Use the planner on the Experiences page or just ask at the desk.
Do you have parking?
Free parking for cars and scooters inside the gate. EV charging is available for Nepali EVs on request.
Are you child friendly?
Very. Cots are free, children under 6 eat breakfast free, and the Family Loft has a reading nook made for them.
